A Busy Summer!
Missions Teams
In July we had the pleasure of hosting three missions teams. Southside Baptist and Second Baptist along with their Senior Pastor Jim Perdue, came together as a team to host out first community block party. During their time here they prayed over our city, blessed a fellow church planter by doing some work on their home and put on a really fun community party complete with bounce houses, hot dogs, cotton candy, snow cones, popcorn and a movie. The block party allowed us to introduce ourselves to some of the neighborhoods surrounding Stargate Charter School (our future church location) and build relationships with the people there. We also had a construction team come to help get us started on finishing our basement. Everyone worked so hard to accomplish the tasks at hand and we are so grateful for these partnerships.
We also were able to take what we learned through our first block party experience and host a second block party in early August with our Georgia team and Colorado team coming together for the first time. We are in awe of the awesome team God has brought together to launch Orchard Thornton.
Teamwork Makes the Dream Work
Our launch team from Georgia has been trickling in over the past year and they are finally all here. Some of you know these awesome people already but in case you don't I would like to introduce you to the crazy people who answered God's calling on their lives to uproot themselves and move to a foreign place so that others may have the opportunity to know Jesus. We are humbled by their sacrifice and thankful to have their support on this wild ride. Without further ado, meet:
Ways You Can Pray
The next 10 weeks will be full of prep work getting ready for our October 13th launch. This includes practicing set up and tear down, putting volunteers in the right places, training and so much more. Please pray for us to be a focused and united team in working hard for the glory of God.
Launch Team - We ask for continued prayers for our team as they adjust to a new life here in Denver. Starting over is really hard so we appreciate you praying for peace & patience as they find new normals.
The School Year - These families came with a lot of kiddos, most of which are starting a new school this year. Pray they will make friendships quickly and easily. And that they would be bold in their faith and a bright light in their schools.
As we continue to be involved in the community please continue to pray for the relationships we are making. We pray that those relationships would allow us to share the gospel.
Thank You!
Thank you so much for your generosity in prayer and finances. We could not be here without you and can't express our gratitude enough.
